After winning his second world title at the 2023 World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, Azerbaijan's Rafig Huseynov reflected on one of the most difficult aspects of competition: wrestling against a friend. Speaking with Wrestling Podium Radio in both English and Azerbaijani, the 82kg Greco-Roman champion discussed his long-standing rivalry and friendship with Türkiye's Burhan Akbudak, the 2022 world champion. The two had exchanged victories over the years, and Huseynov admitted that fortune had favoured him in their latest encounter. As he put it, "The toughest match in the world is against your friend."

رفیق حسینوف، کشتی‌گیر آذربایجانی وزن ۸۲ کیلوگرم کشتی فرنگی، پس از کسب دومین طلای جهانی خود در بلگراد ۲۰۲۳، در گفت‌وگو با رادیو سکوی کشتی از دشواری رقابت با دوست دیرینه‌اش، برهان آکبوداک، قهرمان جهان در سال ۲۰۲۲، صحبت کرد. این دو کشتی‌گیر در سال‌های گذشته بارها مقابل یکدیگر قرار گرفته و طعم برد و باخت را تجربه کرده‌اند. حسینوف که این بار در نیمه‌نهایی موفق به شکست آکبوداک شده بود، به زبان‌های انگلیسی و آذربایجانی از دوستی‌شان گفت و تأکید کرد که مبارزه با یک رفیق، سخت‌ترین مبارزه دنیاست.
