MISSION
Wrestling Podium Radio is a registered nonprofit organization based in Alberta, Canada, operating as an independent platform for wrestling journalism. We believe wrestling is about more than competition results. Behind every match are athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, clubs, and communities whose stories deserve to be documented with care, context, and independence. Through original reporting, interviews, analysis, and multimedia storytelling, WPR works to strengthen understanding of wrestling while connecting communities through journalism.
Representation Matters
Representation in wrestling journalism is shaped not only by whose stories are told, but also by who has the opportunity to tell them.
As one of the few women-led independent wrestling journalism organizations, Wrestling Podium Radio is committed to expanding who gets to document the sport by supporting and developing women in wrestling media while working toward independent coverage of major national and international events.
In a field where female journalists remain underrepresented, this work is not symbolic—it is practical and ongoing.
We believe wrestling journalism becomes stronger when it reflects a wider range of experiences, perspectives, and voices. By maintaining an active presence in wrestling media, WPR contributes to a more complete and balanced understanding of the sport.

Through long-term relationships with athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and wrestling organizations, we seek to understand the experiences, challenges, and stories that matter most to the communities we serve. Our approach is simple: participation in wrestling should extend beyond competition and officiating to include how the sport is recorded, interpreted, and understood.
We believe independent journalism is strongest when communities are not only represented in the stories, but also help shape the conversations that matter to them.

Voice of the Podium is Wrestling Podium Radio's flagship interview series, featuring conversations with athletes, coaches, officials, and influential voices from across the wrestling community.
From Olympic and World champions to people whose contributions often go unnoticed, the series explores the experiences, decisions, and journeys that shape the sport beyond competition results.
More than an interview platform, Voice of the Podium is one of the ways WPR listens to the wrestling community.
