At Wrestling Podium Radio, we believe trust is the foundation of independent journalism. Our reporting is guided by principles of accuracy, fairness, editorial independence, and respect for the communities we serve.

As an independent nonprofit journalism organization, we are committed to producing journalism that informs, reflects, and documents wrestling with integrity.

Our editorial practices are guided by the principles of the Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ) Ethics Guidelines, adapted to the realities of independent sports journalism.

Accuracy

We strive to verify information before publication and present it as accurately and completely as possible. When reporting on competitions, policies, or individuals, we rely on credible sources, direct reporting, official documents, interviews, and first-hand observation whenever possible.

Fairness

We seek to represent people and issues fairly by providing appropriate context and avoiding misleading or selective reporting. When a story involves differing perspectives, we make reasonable efforts to include relevant viewpoints.

Transparency

We believe audiences should understand how our journalism is produced. When appropriate, we identify our reporting methods, distinguish between factual reporting and analysis or opinion, and disclose relevant conflicts of interest.

Respect

Wrestling is built on diverse communities across different countries, cultures, and experiences. We aim to report with respect for athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and community members while recognizing that independent journalism may include critical reporting when it serves the public interest.
