Support Independent Wrestling Journalism
Wrestling Podium Radio is an independent, women-led nonprofit journalism organization based in Alberta, Canada. Through original reporting, interviews, analysis, photography, podcasts, and multimedia storytelling, we document the people and communities shaping amateur wrestling in Canada while connecting them to the broader international wrestling landscape.
Since 2013, WPR has built trusted relationships across wrestling communities through original journalism and long-term engagement with athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and organizations. Those relationships continue to shape our reporting and our commitment to independent, community-centred journalism.
Why We Need Your Support
Wrestling Podium Radio has spent more than a decade producing independent wrestling journalism, largely through volunteer labour and personal financial commitment. As our work increasingly focuses on serving wrestling communities across Canada, sustainable support is essential to expand original reporting, strengthen community engagement, and fairly compensate contributors.
Why Your Support Makes a Difference
Your support helps us:
Produce original, community-centred journalism.
Document athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and wrestling communities.
Expand multimedia storytelling and independent event coverage.
Strengthen relationships with wrestling communities across Canada.
Fairly compensate the writers, photographers, and videographers who help make this work possible.
Preserve stories that might otherwise go untold.
You're not simply supporting a media platform.
You're helping ensure that wrestling communities have independent journalism rooted in trust, experience, and long-term relationships with the people who shape the sport. Built from inside the wrestling community, our work reflects not only what happens on the mat, but also the people and stories that give the sport its meaning.
If you believe these stories deserve to be told, your support helps make that possible.
