Who We Are:

Wrestling Podium Radio (WPR) is an independent wrestling media platform founded in 2015 by a team with experience in journalism, officiating, and international competition.

With roots across multiple wrestling communities, WPR brings a broader perspective to how the sport is documented — through storytelling, technical insight, and on-the-ground coverage.

As a women-led platform, it reflects a perspective shaped by both access to the sport and the realities within it.

Journalism and Representation

Wrestling Podium Radio is a registered non-profit organization based in Alberta, Canada, operating as an independent platform for wrestling coverage.

Our work reflects a consistent focus on representation within the sport — particularly in areas where female journalists, referees, and commentators remain underrepresented.

By maintaining an active presence in wrestling media and coverage, WPR contributes to a more complete and balanced understanding of the sport.

Telling the Story

WPR is committed to expanding who gets to document the sport — supporting and developing women in wrestling media while working toward independent coverage at major international events.

In a field where female journalists remain underrepresented, this work is not symbolic — it is practical and ongoing.

Our approach is simple: participation in wrestling should extend beyond competition and officiating to include how the sport is recorded, interpreted, and understood.

Voice of Podium

Voice of Podium is the flagship podcast of Wrestling Podium Radio, featuring conversations with athletes, coaches, and figures across the sport.

The podcast brings together a range of perspectives — from Olympic and World champions to voices less visible in mainstream coverage — reflecting wrestling as it is experienced across different contexts.

Through these conversations, Voice of Podium contributes to documenting the sport beyond results, with a focus on the people and paths behind it.
